this is Cache Creek Colorado. photo is taken next to the creek of me sampling the gravel . went last Tuesday weather is perfect right now, about 70 and no rain.

  • Spur if you have google earth type in Granite Co it will put you at the town of Granite , to the west side of town their is a road go up it until you come to the first left turn it dead ends at an old cemetery.  you will see this is drainage from the mountains near by.   this area has been mined by washing the gravel with high power hoses. until it was shut down. the BLM owns this land and allows anyone to prospect . behind me you can see the mountains that cache creek flows from.

  • cecil the creek is about ten yards below me to the left of this picture.  the Arkansas river valley is glacier moraine just mixed up and the gold is mixed in  Randy c17A on gpaa forum could tell you more about the area.
