Yep thats pretty much the way Ive been doing a gravel bed on Olney Creek this summer but with a reciculating sluice as the Creek goes dry in the summer
Thanx Howard, that little bit was took from diggin at the base of different boulders in the creek I was workin this last summer, without a sluice, I had no reason to dig 100's of sample holes in the gravel bars to try and locate streaks, but now I have a sluice, so from here on out, my game will have changed. When I git back there, I will work to locate streaks in the gravel bars, then it's just about movin 100 buckets through the sluice to pan out 3-4 buckets of cons.
