I purchased some panning equipment with a magnet. I live in Scotch Grove Iowa. Searching Youtube there is gold in Iowa, it came in the past glaciers. There are Lake Superior agates in some streams in North Iowa. This may give a direction of where to look. I also have a magnet for magnet fishing. Dragging the magnet should find black sand.
Problem, Iowa doesn't allow panning on state land. Discovering land owners for permission is next to impossible. I could go panning take a chance the DNR won't show up. Do you have any suggestions on places to pan?
