  •  hello Roy, I will help you in anyway I can. The Creek I would suggest is called contrary Creek it is located by Lake Anna outside of Richmond a bit. it has been many years since I was down there, but the Creek seems to get replenished with gold after it storms. There is a campground a couple miles up the road, it is right on Lake Anna. there is several guys on the site that go there, the one that goes they're the most would be Darth here is his page http://www.goldprospectorsspace.com/profile/DarthPlacer?xg_source=profiles_memberList I would recommend getting a hold of him because he would know the updated prices on camping. Darth lives in Pennsylvania and goes there several times a year and does very well. There is access to the Creek along side of a bridge and a place to park. To give you a heads up you must stay in the water once entering the Creek both sides above the waterline is privately owned and leased by another prospecting club, they will not bother you as long as you stay within the water. here is the campgrounds website http://www.christopherruncampground.com/index.html . Turn left out of campground follow road to first bridge this is contrary Creek, cut and paste these numbers which are latitude and longitude to bing maps 38.065203, -77.879814 and these numbers will take you to the campground 38.096729, -77.892651 most of the bedrock is close to the surface. Just a little bit of history gold was found on this Creek in 1830 the first production of gold was in 1835 the next numbers is where I was told the dredge burned down 38.063694, -77.872976 the water is deep in this spot, people have tried to work in this whole but said the walls kept caving in to please be very careful in this area if you go down that far. Like I said before it has been years since I've been there, Darth can give you a better understanding of where they are finding gold today. I hope some of this help, if you need any more info please do not hesitate to ask. Have a great time and I hope you find plenty of gold.      William
