I'm planning to head south (NC,GA or AL) around Memorial day to a gold area.. I'm not looking to strike it rich but just to spend some time outdoors and learn more about prospecting. Any suggestions? I know how to pan... did a little in Alaska and have been practicing with some cons I bought this winter. I never used any equipment but I do have an understanding of how they work. I live in Buffalo, NY and I'm 64 years old.
