Senate Bill 670 (anti-suction dredging legislation) was passed
by the California Assembly several days ago. It will now reach
the governor as soon as tomorrow (13 July). Because this has
passed through the legislature as an "urgency bill,"
I suggest writing the Governor. Here is a link to send an e-mail: http://gov.ca.gov/interact#email but I recommend sending a letter too!

I just saw this posted on another forum, so it looks like the judge has issue an order for the state of California to stop issuing dredging permits, but I didn't see any mention of you not being able to dredge if you have already bought your permit,
