Some crazy quartz

Part of todays adventure took me along this little cliff.

I went around the corner and found massive chunks of quartz. One chunk bigger than my truck I think.  Some white, some green, some red and a lot of orange. Not sure what to make of it but was cool to see. I took a bunch of pics of it....

  • Awesome find. That's some heavy mineralization going on in that quartz. Definitely worth taking home to sample, or more, or more . . . until the truck is filled up.

  • Magnificent pictures Bob.

  • I didnt run the detector over it. That machine is not a gold finding unit (gold rings show up fine though...and you better not tell her how I know lol). Gold is found in the area. When looking at local mines online, if gold isnt a primary mineral listed....its almost always listed as a byproduct. May have to bring home some samples.

  • Josh...I was thinking of you while looking at this lol. I dont know much about rock. Just that the shiny yellow ones come home with me.
