  • Well, it was only about 30 flakes, when my paydirt pan got knocked over in my yard.

    • Oh man, yeah I did that once. Walking back from the creek I stumbled and dropped my bucket of black sand. Hiking in big rubber boots without a lid on my bucket, I guess that'll happen.
  • My best day was close to one ounce, my average was more like .2 oz I used to get some pretty nice nuggets but mostly match head sized pickers. Not too much fine gold from my claims. Largest nugget was just under .5 oz. but I have seen nuggets up to 2 oz. come from the areas near my claims.
    • Crazy, that's awesome. Metal detector I'm guessing.
      • No, just dredging and sniping, the area had been previously mined commercially and then abandoned, they left a lot on bedrock and in crevices, they did me a favor by removing most of the overburden!

This was in the Bradshaw mountains near Prescott, AZ.

I tried using metal detectors in the area but there are too many hot rocks and metallic junk in the area not to mention lots of lead in the creek!
    • very nice

  • I am not sure I have never had enough to weigh it LOL

  • Oh and that's all in Colorado, I've never found gold outside this state
