Georgia Gems

When I take my little girl panning or sluicing she spends more time looking for pretty rocks and could care less about gold. When we get home she always has a pocket full of pretty rocks. A couple weeks back I was talking with MDV and mentioned to him how I see Doc from Gold Hog finding cool rocks and minerals in his tailing piles. I thought it would be cool if I could get some of those for my little girl to add to her collection. I asked MDV if he found rocks like that where he's at but he said he didn't. The next day he asked me for my address and I thought he may have come across some little pieces that she might enjoy. But that wasn't the case. He went and ordered a bad of gem paydirt from Crisson Gold Mine for her. How cool is that! I cant say Thank You enough to MDV for doing that! We were both blown away with the amount of gems and minerals that came out of that bag of dirt. Here's some pics of the keepers. Thanks again MDV...by far the coolest bag of paydirt we have ever gone through!

Here is the group pic...

Here's some closer pics of the piles...

And out of all of these....this is Emily's favorite

These next two pics don't do the emerald and sapphire justice but when you put a flashlight to them, their true color comes out...pretty cool!

Is that cool or what!

  • here is a video I'd like to refer to Bob, don't know if any of these rocks are what you have, but he shows the scratch test and what colors they leave behind  http://youtu.be/VnM8ebB06MU  and I really like the photo MDV gave you

  • Havent got an id for all of them yet. Gonna email Crisson and see if they have a chart or something I can get of the minerals that are found there.
